Lazy Days

Tristan and I are apparently having a lazy Sunday. Tristan made a little bed on the floor and is layed down watching HGTV with me. Then he took over the sofa and had a 2 hour plus nap. After that we went to Target to return something we bought that was wrong. It was rainy and cold so I wanted a gingerbread latte so bad. Well Target had a Starbucks so I all but ran over and the lady was on her cell and said she couldn't make any drinks because they were sold out of everything. YEAH RIGHT! I'm calling Starbucks tomorrow and complaining. Then we headed over to my mother in-laws to drop off a laundry list of stuff. We've also been helping to decorate my in-laws guest suite. Great Grandma arrives Tuesday and there's still a ton to do!

Update

Its been a rough month or so. I was laid off and a week later my laptop crashed after installing a Vista update. Tristan is growing by leaps and bounds. His personality amazes me. That boy is smart and strong. We have major repairs going on in the house. They did the one year walk through and some problems were discovered. The great thing is its a new house so its free. Tristan is still going to daycare. I need to hold my spot.

Tristan has a ton of new words. Like duck duck, Tritan (his name), ball and more. He is a joy! He can open doors now. Thanks to lever style knobs.

Rick is working harder then ever. I love him so much. No matter what he's always our rock. Solid and strong!

I am so busy. With contractors in and out and job hunting. Plus I need to finish 4 blankets, 2 quilts and 6 raw honey almond face washes for Christmas!

We have been really busy preparing for Rick's grandmother (we all call her Bouscha because that is polish for grandmother).Yesterday we made 144 (yes 12 dozen) polish perogis from SCRATCH! We've also been helping with the bedroom redo. New paint, carpet, closet doors, door, trim, furniture, linens and more. Its AMAZING I love it. Rita (Rick's Mom) made everything mesh so well.

Coming up we have to go to ICE (check out www.christmasonthepotomac.com) and them regular Christmas stuff and Bouscha is coming over for dinner to see our new house. I'm making a 100% polish dinner from scratch. I can't wait. I have a feeling the month she's here will fly by. Then we also have to celebrate her 86th birthday.

Tristan is running around screaming so I will write more later. Sorry I've been neglecting my blog. Well not my cooking blog, that's on fire!

Perogi

Today we headed over to my in-laws and made 12 dozen polish perogis with a potato and hoop cheese filling today. My feet are KILLING me. I'm now snuggled up with Tristan the monster on the sofa by the Christmas tree. Sometimes he spends forever running his hands over my face and just feeling it. Like he wants to remember it forever. He is so sweet. I love my baby boy. He's only bad habit is a mean MMCH (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse) addiction. He says mouse clear as a bell when he wants to watch it.

Fixing

Tristan had an hour long screaming fit from 2am to 3 something.. (he never does that) a spider bit him on the back of the head. Its a HUGE bite and he had gas. I'm not sure which woke him but a warm bath with Mommy and then Daddy patting his back and all seems back to normal. So I might get some sleep.

Then the day started with Paul from PCS homes coming out and doing some 1 year repairs for warranty work. He caulked the cracks on the stairs and recaulked around all the sinks. Then he fixed some floor pops. After that he made Tristan's mirror & vanity in his bathroom level, then he lowered Tristan's shower curtain rod 3 inches. Now I don't have to buy a custom shower curtain. After that he had the plumber cut 2 small holes & one big hole to fix pipe knocking. (UPDATE: that didn't work so the main floor ceiling has to have parts ripped out to fix). Paul also fixed 3 doors and the garage door. Left on the list is cracks in the basement sub floor, moving a plug in the kitchen, fixing the molding around the plug, fixing a half wall that's not level, fixing the sub floor that does not meet properly in Tristan's bedroom (this means ripping out the carpet-OH joy!), fixing the air register in the ceiling on the 3rd floor and making the numbers on the front of the house centered.

We also finished decorating the outside of the house today. It looks so fantastic!

Then Rick and I went to Target in Lexington Park, I'm left wondering if the 2 multi packs of car air freshner trees the lady stole from Target were worth going to jail for? It did make for a fun Target trip. She had bags of stuff she bought, so maybe she did it for the "thrill". After that we went to CiCi's for the pizza buffet. Yummy!

Happy

I'm so thankful and so happy to have my baby back. He's in a good mood and ate a whole chicken wing and part of a thigh, a scoop of corn, a scoop of mac & cheese, some mashed potatoes and a biscuit.

Hell

I think teeth are a bitch! My poor baby has not had quality sleep all week and he's been a super grump! I've tried teething tablets, tylenol, motrin, and a dab of alcohol on the gums. (not all at once). Half a dose of tylenol with 2 teething tablets and ice in a mesh feeder seem to work the best. But T is still not doing well with these new teeth. I ♥ my grump, but I hate his new teeth!

Surprise Visit

Today the plumber came back and fixed water pressure and pipe knocking problems in the master bathroom. Other then that it was a slow day. The plumber did scare the crap out of me. I wasn't expecting him again since he was just here yesterday.

Water Heater

I called the plumber today about our electric water heater sitting in a pan of water. Turns out a piece broke. So he replaced it and shop vac'd the water out.
