The Numbers of the storm

3.4" Of snow in DC

4.7" Of snow in MD at my house

5 miles gone in 3.5 hours after leaving work

.5 hours to turn around and do those 5 miles to get back to the office

1 hour to find a hotel that had a vacancy

1 hour to get to said hotel 3 miles from my work

$200 price of hotel

$20 to get to and from the hotel.

2 the number of strangers cars I got into. One guy works in my building and I smoke with him. So kind of a stranger. The other guy was an illegal taxi but he picked me and another guy up at the hotel so I figured I was safe.

$35 the price the garage charged me to park overnight.

21 hours. The number of hours I didn't get to eat.

12 the number of abandoned cars I saw.

6 the number of roads I tried to take home that were closed before I turned around.

0 the number of accidents I saw.

4 hours. The number of hours of sleep I actually got.

34 hours not seeing my baby Tristan

40 hours not seeing my Husband Rick

35 hours in the same outfit

8 hours. The time it took my co-worker to get home on the commuter bus.

10 hours. The time it took my Mother in law to get home.

4 the number of lessons I learned.

Grandma's Obituary

Lillian Inez Rich-Martin, age 76, a resident of Edgewater, MD for thirty four years, died on Sunday, January 2 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a three month battle with lung cancer. Born in Washington, D.C., Lillian worked as a clerk with the Maryland Automobile Insurance Company and in her spare time enjoyed flea markets, old movies and her pets. She was the best Mom and Grandmother in the world. Lillian was pre-deceased by her husband, Donald Rich, who died in 1981; and by two brothers, Donnie and Jimmy Rodgers. She is survived by a son, Donald Paul Rich of Somerset, NJ; two daughters, Patricia Rich of Beckley, WV and Donna Robinson of Seattle, WA; two brothers, Charles Wayne Rodgers of Lothian, MD and Ernie Rodgers of Mt. Airy, MD; a grandson, Tony Raffo of Seattle, WA; three granddaughters, Chrystal Oates of Prince Frederick, MD, Tricia Dove and Sabrina Rich both of Edgewater, MD, she is also survived by five great grandchildren. Friends are invited to Lillian’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Thursday, January 6 from 6:00 to 8:00PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Hwy., Annapolis, MD 21401. 1st and 2nd Snowfall of the winter.

The first one was on December 16th. We got about an 1 to 2 inches, depending on where you were. I worked all day through the snow and left at normal time. People that left early took 3-5 hours to get home. I breezed home in 45 minutes and the roads were FANTASTIC!!!

The second snow we got was on December 26th. We got lucky, we only got about 3". My Uncle in NJ was hit by the same storm and got 30".
