Saturday's with Tristan 8-27-11

Well we got hit bad in Southern Maryland with Irene. We only lost power for about 24 hours but it rained for 36+ hours and we have over 10" of rain. We also had 72 MPH wind gusts. I personally really thought the winds were the worst after midnight mainly around 2am to 3am as the eye wall passed just to the east of Ocean City, MD.

Tristan and I played in the hurricane and went on a long walk to asses damage this afternoon.

We had a generator and ran 3 houses on it. We love our neighbors.

Saturday before we lost power:

The Best Lasagna Ever

or so says The Pioneer Woman. This was in her cookbook so I decided to make it. I have included the link from her blog. The only two differences between the book version and the blog version is that in the book she used fresh herbs and in the book she used shredded mozzarella cheese.

Recipe

I doubled the recipe and decided to freeze one and leave one to bake tonight. I have had this before and it is always delicious.

My Next Project

Is a quilt for a Christmas gift. I am using this tutorial from The Missouri Star Quilt Company. The fabric I am using is Full Circle by Kathy Schmitz for Moda Fabrics. I am using 5 charm packs. I can't wait to get started. I will put up progression pictures as I go.

Here are the fabrics in that set: (Pictures from Moda)

Saturday's with Tristan 8-20-11

We headed over to my inlaws horse farm to spend the day with my nephew the birthday boy. We went for a swim, petted the horses, went for a golf cart ride, and Tristan learned how to shuck corn. It was a great day with family.

Saturday's with Tristan 8-13-11

Rick's Grandmother is out from LA and had a medical scare so we spent today going back and forth to the hospital to get her settled in.

This is a picture of Tristan in the car on one of those trips.

Hello All!

I use to blog at a different blog and while it is still up for some reason I keep losing access to it. I have contacted blogger but decided to start over. Maybe one day I can get all my posts moved over.

Oh and my blog is a work in progress I have ordered a design by a wonderful designer I have worked with in the past and I can't wait for her makeover!
