How many times have we said "if it's important I would have remembered it?"
We use many things to remember:
- Sticky Notes
- Electronic Gadgets
- Organizers
- Calendars
This attests to the fact that we NEED daily reminders to remember things. We don't absorb things immediately. At least I know I don't. The most important thing we need to remember and instill in our children is God's love for us. We need to steep it in our hearts and theirs. They need to be reminded of it.
"These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impose them on your children." Deuteronomy 6:6-7
Reflect on the following:
- How natural is it for you to talk about God?
- Especially with your children?
- Would you say it's the center of your life?
- How do you demonstrate your love and reverence for God to your children?
Two more verses to help you raise your kids with the lord:
Isaiah 40:11:
He tends his flock like a Shepard:
He gathers the lambs in his arms
And carries them close to his heart;
he gently leads those that have young.
Matthew 19:13-14:
Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
